I saw it for the first time on the big screen when it was making the rounds at it's 10th year re-release and watched it just about every Spring on ABC since the 1970's. It's just one big miasma of spectacle, color, emotion and grandeur. How can you not watch it over and over again? I certainly can't resist the urge. Even picked up the special 50th anniversary DVD release. Be sure to read my fifth annual Ten Commandments post if you don't think the movie has mesmerized me since childhood:

http://journeyphoto.blogspot.com/2011/04/its-hard-to-believe-that-this-is.htmlKennyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15714630010955343769noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9149411832127844385.post-2345964274890617592009-04-14T15:40:00.000-04:002009-04-14T15:40:00.000-04:00I've seen "10 Commandments" a few ti...I've seen "10 Commandments" a few times. Whatever possessed ABC & Disney to commission a remake a couple of years back, quite frankly, underestimated the enduring popularity of the original. It's amazing that it hasn't been farmed out to Disney Channel or ABC Family after all these years.hobbyfanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08089664500077967952noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9149411832127844385.post-61979288468269662562009-04-14T08:11:00.000-04:002009-04-14T08:11:00.000-04:00I watched this film as well on Sunday and I had fo...I watched this film as well on Sunday and I had forgotten what awful dialogue there is in it. And the film is easy to adore. For all its flaws, or because of them, it's nearly irresistible.

Hobbyfan: I think you put the hearse before the horse, to refine a phrase, as being on Batman meant that you were done as a viable movie star, at least for a while, unless you were already a genre star like Vincent Price.Samuel Wilsonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00934870299522899944noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9149411832127844385.post-14403293753504011872009-04-13T18:24:00.000-04:002009-04-13T18:24:00.000-04:00Anne Baxter's role in "Ten Commandments" didn't ki...Anne Baxter's role in "Ten Commandments" didn't kill her career.
